Datarithm's Liquidation Engine now lets independent pharmacies sell dead stock to other pharmacies, and buy from verified pharmacies, on InStockRx.

Every independent pharmacy has working capital sitting on a shelf, in medication that hasn't moved in months.”
— Jeremy Froehner, Founder, InStockRx
SYRACUSE, NY, UNITED STATES, November 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- InStockRx, the pharmacy-to-pharmacy marketplace, today announced that its marketplace is now integrated with Datarithm's Liquidation Engine. Independent pharmacies using Datarithm inventory management can now list dead stock for sale to other pharmacies on InStockRx, and buy surplus inventory other pharmacies have listed, without leaving Datarithm.

Dead stock is inventory that has not moved in four or more months and no longer qualifies for wholesaler return or store-to-store transfer. For many independents, the options left have been a manufacturer return with a long timeline, or reverse distribution, where surplus can sit up to three years before it turns into credit. The Liquidation Engine now gives each flagged item a clear next step:

Datarithm identifies dead stock and checks which recovery path it is eligible for.
Rx Direct Solutions handles manufacturer returns for eligible items.
InStockRx gives items that are not eligible, or not a good fit for a manufacturer return, a market with other pharmacies that need them.

"Every independent pharmacy has working capital sitting on a shelf, in medication that hasn't moved in months," said Jeremy Froehner, founder of InStockRx. "Datarithm already tells them which items those are. Now, from the same screen, they can sell them to another pharmacy that needs them, or buy what they need from a pharmacy they know is verified. That's cash back in the business, and less risk that good medication expires on a shelf before a patient can use it."

Know who you're trading with

InStockRx is pharmacies only. Every pharmacy's state license and DEA registration are verified before its first trade, and there are no brokers. InStockRx provides Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) transaction records on every trade, kept seven years, a year longer than DSCSA's six.

Buy, not just sell

The integration works on both sides of the marketplace. Pharmacies can use it to source surplus inventory listed by other pharmacies. Pharmacies have saved over $33 million versus NADAC* since the marketplace opened. Today there are 2,000+ pharmacies on the platform.

InStockRx is free to join, with no fees to buy, and transfers between a member's own pharmacies carry no fee. Every member gets their own Account Manager, with a direct line and a response within one business day.

"Adding InStockRx provides a potentially faster path to sell when the manufacturer return timeline is long," said Dave Belinski, President of Datarithm.

InStockRx records support your pharmacy's DSCSA obligations. Your pharmacy keeps its own compliance responsibilities.
